“Teton Moment” – Moose in Tetons, 2019. 250 Limited Edition
In November of 2019, I spent a week in the Tetons hoping for some snowy, winter scenes. I arrived to an Indian summer, with no snow in sight. On the last evening of the trip, I had an incredible experience with a small group of moose near Kelly. There was this one bull, and three cows that were grazing just before sunset in an open field. The sun poured over the mountains and lit up all the amber grass and sage that they were grazing in. The blue mountains in the background provided an incredible shot. I spent about an hour with them before the sun finally set and they disappeared into the darkness.
I have found moose are hard to shoot for a good print. Mainly because they are generally in lots of brush, and they are hard to get close to for a good portrait shot. I was so excited for this photo because it is a rare shot for me. Enjoy!
