“Teton Moment” – Moose in Tetons, 2019. 250 Limited Edition
In November of 2019, I spent a week in the Tetons hoping for some snowy, winter scenes. Â I arrived to an Indian summer, with no snow in sight. Â On the last evening of the trip, I had an incredible experience with a small group of moose near Kelly. Â There was this one bull, and three cows that were grazing just before sunset in an open field. Â The sun poured over the mountains and lit up all the amber grass and sage that they were grazing in. Â The blue mountains in the background provided an incredible shot. Â I spent about an hour with them before the sun finally set and they disappeared into the darkness.
I have found moose are hard to shoot for a good print. Â Mainly because they are generally in lots of brush, and they are hard to get close to for a good portrait shot. Â I was so excited for this photo because it is a rare shot for me. Â Enjoy!
