“LONE YELLOWSTONE” – Limited Edition 500 – American Bison, Yellowstone, Wyoming
“Lone Yellowstone” is a photograph that I have been searching for since beginning my annual visits to Yellowstone over 10 years ago. Â The iconic American Bison is one of the most popular animals in Yellowstone, and is a special treat to see during the harsh winters of Yellowstone, when their faces are covered with snow, ice, and sometimes frost. During this time, the bulls tend to stay away from the herd and travel through the park alone.
As we were headed to the Hayden Valley, we met this massive bull bison head on walking down the road, face covered in snow, adorned with small branches and pine needles.
