Bison Fight

Description

Thousands of bison make their home in Yellowstone National Park. This population is comprised of at least two distinct subpopulations, the northern and central herds.

Lamar Valley is home to many of the vast species of wildlife in Yellowstone, and is the home to the northern herd.  Thousands of bison roam the plains and with that many bison, there’s bound to be some disagreements.

This photo was taken in Lamar Valley as two bison faced off and were fighting.   The swirling dust and the aggressive actions of the bison made this pic an instant favorite of mine.  It reminded me of growing up with 4 older brothers…
